Elberon Zen Circle extends an opportunity for Zen practice to people who wish to integrate the serenity and rigor of tra-ditional Soto Zen meditation into suburban lives busy with work, family, etc.

We study and practice in the tradition and lineage of Shunryu Suzuki-roshi, founder of San Francisco Zen Center. His lecture collec-tions "Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind," and "Not Always So: Practicing the True Spirit of Zen," are excellent guides to our style of practice.

Elberon Zen Circle provides weekly meditation practice, beginning instruction, occasional classes or discussion groups, and referrals to teachers and training opportunities at affiliated centers.

Our resident priest is Zenshin Brian Unger, ordained by Norman Fischer in 2003.

Visiting the zendo for the first time?

Unless you have some experience practicing Zen, please make an appointment with one of our senior members for a introduction (refresher / re-aquaintance) to the techniques of Zen meditation and zendo forms. First-time visitors are asked to offer a donation of $10.

We meet for zazen meditation every Sunday morning throughout the year, usually starting at 10 a.m. sharp. Please plan on arriving five or ten minutes early. Call Brian: 732 870.9065.
